The short version. This is a website about a book. Read it, enjoy the artwork, follow the link if you'd like a copy. Please don't copy the story or the illustrations for your own use — they took years to make.

These terms cover your use of this website. They do not affect any statutory rights you have as a consumer, and they say nothing about the book itself once you have bought it — that is between you and whoever sold it to you.

Using the site

You're welcome to browse, read, link to, and share this site. Quoting a short passage or showing a screenshot when writing or talking about the book — a review, a school project, a post recommending it — is fine and needs no permission from us.

What we ask you not to do:

Republish the illustrations or substantial parts of the text as your own, or as stock imagery, merchandise, or training data for a commercial model.
Copy the site's design and content wholesale to pass off as another product.
Attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the site or its administrative area.
Scrape the site in a way that degrades it for other readers. Ordinary crawling by search engines is welcome.

Everything is protected by copyright whether or not a notice appears next to any given item, and nothing on this page grants you a licence beyond the ordinary reading and sharing described above.

If you'd like to use the artwork or an extract for something we haven't anticipated — an event, a classroom resource, a feature — just ask. The answer is often yes.

Buying the book

The "Get your copy" buttons link to Amazon. We don't sell the book directly, take payment, or process orders, so anything to do with your purchase — price, availability, delivery, returns, refunds — is between you and the retailer, under their terms.

We have no control over Amazon's site and are not responsible for it. We are not paid a commission on sales made through these links.

Accuracy

We try to keep the site accurate and current, but publishing details can change. Prices, availability, formats and dates shown here may go out of date, and the retailer's listing is the authoritative source. Nothing on this site is a binding offer to sell.

Availability and liability

The site is provided as it is. We don't promise it will always be reachable or error-free, and we may change or withdraw any part of it at any time.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — and if any part of this section is unenforceable where you live, the rest still stands.

Privacy

How we handle data is set out on the privacy page. In short: no cookies, no third parties, and no way to identify you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the current version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, United States, and the courts of that state will have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country.
